PUNO: TAQUILE HOMESTAY

DAY 01: VISIT TO THE ISLAND OF UROS AND TAQUILE

At 07:00 AM, we will meet at the lobby of your hotel to start the journey towards the Puno port. Upon arrival at Uros Islands, you will be welcomed by the local community, who will share their story with you and explain the island construction technique. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn about their customs and their way of life in harmony with the lake. Later, we will leave for the Taquile Island, where we will take a walk of approximately 45 minutes until reaching the main square of the island.

In Taquile, we will enjoy a typical lunch in a local restaurant with a stunning view of the Lake Titicaca. At the end of the meal, we will meet the local family who will host you at the lodge and we will head to your accommodation to install and enjoy the local surroundings. In the evening, a buffet will be served traditional dinner in the company of family, providing a space to exchange experiences and enjoy a well-deserved rest at the lodge.

DAY 02: FAMILY ACTIVITY AND RETURN TO PUNO

We will start the day with a family breakfast, prepared by the local family, giving you the opportunity to share a pleasant morning in their company. Then, you will participate in some of the daily activities of the family, like weave or collect reeds, allowing you an authentic immersion in local life and a deeper connection with the culture of the region. After the farewell, a family member will accompany you to the shipment to board the boat that will take you back to Puno.

At 04:00 PM, we will arrive at the port of Puno, where we will end the experience with the transfer to your hotel, thus concluding a day full of learning and unique experiences.
