DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN CAJAMARCA AND TOUR OF THE HISTORIC CENTER
Upon your arrival in Cajamarca, a properly identified transfer agent from our company will be waiting for you at the airport or bus station with a sign bearing the names of the passengers. After a warm greeting, he or she will provide you with the details of the service and will accompany you to the vehicle to comfortably transfer you to the selected hotel, ensuring that your arrival is as simple and pleasant as possible.
Once at the hotel, you will receive assistance with your check-in, ensuring that all formalities are quick and smooth. You will be able to enjoy the hotel facilities and prepare for the day full of adventures that awaits you. The rest of the morning will be yours to rest and acclimatize to the altitude of Cajamarca. This is a good time to adapt to the surroundings and regain energy for the afternoon's activities. In the afternoon, we will begin with a tour of the Historic Center of Cajamarca, one of the most unique monumental complexes in America. This place is not only famous for its architectural beauty, but also for being the scene of important historical events, such as the Meeting of Two Worlds. Due to its relevance, the OAS declared it “Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Americas” in 1986.
During the visit, we will get to know some of the most emblematic places in the city. We will begin our exploration in the Plaza Mayor, a space surrounded by majestic colonial temples. Among them, the Cathedral and the Church of San Francisco stand out, two outstanding examples of religious architecture of the time. We will continue to the Belén Monumental Complex, whose building stands out for its imposing baroque-style façade. This historic site is of great importance, not only for its beauty, but also for the history it houses within.
Next, we will visit the Ransom Room, a historic place that holds deep significance in the history of Peru. The gold and silver treasures offered by the conquistadors in exchange for the freedom of the Inca Atahualpa were stored here, being considered the highest ransom paid in history. We will visit the colonial hospitals for men and women, which today house the Ethnographic Museum, a site that allows us to better understand the history of the region and the impact of colonization on local communities.
We will end the tour with a climb to the Hill of Santa Apolonia, a natural viewpoint from where you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the city. On this hill is the famous Inca Chair, a place full of legends and symbolism.
At the end of this fascinating visit, we will return to the hotel to rest and spend the night. Here you can relax after a day full of history, culture and discoveries, preparing to continue with the exciting activities of the next day.
DAY 02: FAREWELL TO CAJAMARCA AND RETURN HOME
The day begins with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, ideal for recharging your batteries before ending your adventure in Cajamarca. This moment will allow you to enjoy the last moments of tranquility in this wonderful destination.
At the agreed time, a transfer from our agency will pick you up to assist you with the check-out at the hotel. Our team will make sure that all the details are under control so that your departure is smooth and without setbacks. Then, you will board our comfortable vehicle for the transfer to the bus terminal or airport, according to your preference.
