Description

DAY 01: EXPLORING TARATA AND ITS NATURAL WONDERS

We start our day with a pick-up from the hotel, from where we travel to the province of Tarata. On the way, nature begins to reveal itself in all its majesty.

Our first stop is the Mirador de la Apacheta, located at 3,500 meters above sea level, a natural point that offers us an impressive view of the Andean valley and the terraces, all in excellent condition. From this viewpoint, we can admire the Yucamani and Tutupaca volcanoes and the Barroso mountain range, creating a landscape that seems taken from a dream.

Next, we head to the Marriage Stones, a geological curiosity that presents itself to us with its unique shape and mystery.

The next stop will be at the Tarucachi Church, a colonial building of great beauty. Here, we observe the details of its decorations, made with natural dyes, which gives it an authentic and ancestral touch.

Then, we head to Tarata to enjoy a typical lunch, recharging our batteries to continue our journey. After lunch, we will set off on the Santa María Inca Trail, where the terraces of the cultural landscape of Tarata accompany us, while we appreciate the history reflected in each stone.

Our tour takes us to the Qala Qala Caves, a rocky outcrop of great sacred importance for the inhabitants of the region. This place not only has historical value, but also spiritual value, making it an essential stop for travelers.

Finally, we head to Candarave, where we will have time to rest and enjoy a local dinner before proceeding to our accommodation for the night. The experience in this corner of the region leaves us with indelible memories of nature, history and culture.

DAY 02: EXPLORING THE VALLEY OF THE GEYSERS AND THE HOT SPRINGS OF CALIENTES

We start the day by energizing ourselves with a breakfast that prepares us for the day of adventure that awaits us.

Our first stop is the impressive Valley of the Geysers, located at 4,300 meters above sea level, within the Vilacota Maure conservation area. Here, we enjoy the stunning volcanic landscape, surrounded by unique flora and fauna adapted to this fragile ecosystem. During the tour, we will be able to observe several species, such as South American camelids and high Andean birds, that inhabit this very special ecosystem.

In the valley, we find more than 85 active geysers, including the famous La Olla Geyser, the Ojo and the Blue Lagoon, which offer us an incomparable natural spectacle. The Yucamani volcano stands majestically on the horizon, completing the spectacular setting of this unique place.

After exploring the geysers, we head to the Hot Springs Baths, where we can relax in its hot springs, which range between 40°C and 45°C. The experience is revitalizing, in an environment surrounded by natural beauty.

Later, we enjoy a delicious lunch in Calientes, prepared by the friendly locals. During this time, we will also have the opportunity to purchase alpaca wool crafts, perfect as souvenirs of this unique experience.

Finally, we begin the return trip to Tarata, where we will enjoy a dinner and prepare for the overnight, ending a day full of nature, relaxation and culture.

DAY 03: EXPLORATION OF KALLAPUMA AND ITS NATURAL WONDERS

We start the day with a delicious breakfast, which gives us the energy we need to start our adventure.

We set off for Kallapuma, where, after a two-hour drive, we arrive at the Mamuta Church, located at 4,000 meters above sea level. This church, built in volcanic stone, is distinguished by its beautiful carvings, reflecting the historical and cultural richness of the region.

We continue our journey to Conchachiri, where we visit the local church and the impressive Conchachiri Waterfalls, a beautiful natural spectacle located in the Maure River, surrounded by the majestic snow-capped mountains Jucuri and Livini. It is the perfect time to take photos and enjoy the landscape that surrounds us.

Later, we head to the Calachaca Thermal Baths and Waterfall – La Calavera, where we will have the opportunity to relax in a natural environment outdoors, enjoying the healing properties of its thermal waters.

To regain our strength, we will have a snack, followed by lunch, before beginning the return to Tarata. At the end, we begin the return trip to Tacna, where this fascinating adventure concludes.

Finally, we arrived at Tacna, ending this incredible experience full of history, nature and relaxation.
